Project:Construction of Hospice Care Model for Cancer Patients.


Aim

(1) To explore the current research status of end-of-life care among inpatient cancer patients by systematically reviewing literature.

(2) To understand the influencing factors of end-of-life care among cancer inpatients by using a mixed methods study which investigated oncology nurses, doctors, family members and cancer patients and as well as explored their perceptions with end-of-life care.  

(3) To design and develop a model which focuses on how to improve the quality of dying cancer patients’ end-of-life care, based on the core content of ELNEC program,.

(4) To test the model in a small sample of oncology nurses to evaluate its feasibility.

(5) To conduct a clinical trial among oncology nurses testing validity of the model, and as well as to facilitate the implementation of this model in clinical training.
