The Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement on jointly building the National Regional Medical Center between Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital and Jiangxi Cancer Hospital
On August 27, 2021, Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital (TMUCIH) and Jiangxi Cancer Hospital held a signing ceremony to confirm the agreement to jointly build a National Regional Medical Center. Mrs.Hu Fangfang, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission; Mr. Wen Xiaoming, Party Secretary and Mr. Xu Bin, President of Jiangxi Cancer Hospital; Prof. Lu Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of TMUCIH; Prof. Hao Jihui, President of TMUCIH, and other leadership members of both hospitals and directors of relevant departments, attended the signing ceremony.
Mr. Zhang Xiaoliang, Vice President of TMUCIH, presided over the meeting and introduced the significance of the signing ceremony. During the “13th Five-Year Plan”, the National Health Commission launched plans to set up national medical centers and national regional medical centers. This facilitated and further improved the distribution of high-quality medical resources among the regions by building reasonable capacity and structural optimization, thus gradually realizing the goal of providing basic medical and health services to all areas so improving the health of the whole population. TMUCIH, is the Support Hospital for National Regional Medical Center Construction and one of the first National Clinical Research Centers for Cancers, it can thus fulfill a leading role for the development of national regional medical centers by providing technical and brand support in terms of the diagnosis and treatment of difficult diseases, and the training of high-level medical talents. By signing the agreement with Jiangxi Cancer Hospital, both sides will actively promote cooperation in jointly supporting the development of the National Regional Medical Center project. This will combine the advantages from both sides and advance the parallel development of oncology as a discipline.
Prof. Hao Jihui, President of TMUCIH, congratulated those signing the cooperation agreement, he expressed hope that the two sides will take up this opportunity, in line with the principle of "strengthening cooperation, combining advantages and achieving mutually beneficial, win-win and coordinated development", to strive to build "TMUCIH Jiangxi Hospital" into medical pinnacle which integrates clinical treatment, prevention, and scientific research, achieving transformation, through combining the respective resources and technical advantages. Both sides will work together to create a new chapter of open cooperation and set up a new model for jointly building a national regional medical center.
Mr. Wen Xiaoming, Party Secretary of Jiangxi Cancer Hospital, introduced the hospital history, medical services, scientific research, equipment allocation and future plans for Jiangxi Cancer Hospital, giving a comprehensive picture of the achievements and the future development plans for the hospital. Their hope is that through the signing ceremony they can cooperate with Tianjin Cancer Hospital to seek mutual development.
Mrs.Hu Fangfang, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission, expressed her heartfelt thanks to Tianjin Cancer Hospital for its long-term care and support for the development of medical and health resources in the old revolutionary base areas of Jiangxi Province. Jiangxi Province is the birthplace of the "Red Medical Spirit". TMUICH provides complimentary support to Gannan area, Jiangxi Province, especially including Academician Hao Xishan's support to Ruijin, the old revolutionary base area, which retains its strong original revolutionary sentiments. Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attach great importance to the construction of the national regional medical center. The Director of the Provincial Health Committee personally directed the implementation of the work and commandeered major efforts from the whole committee to promote its construction. In the future, "TMUCIH Jiangxi Hospital" will realize the transformation from "the supporting role" to "the leading role" in the construction of national regional medical centers highlighting the characteristics of the old revolutionary base areas of Jiangxi. They will play an exemplary and leading role in this area for the benefit the people of Jiangxi.
Prof. Lu Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of TMUCIH, said that signing the cooperation agreement is an important action for TMUCIH to fully implement the strategy of Healthy China and the construction of the National Regional Medical Center proposed by the committee of the CPC and the State Council. This will bring practical benefits to the majority of patients, especially the people in Jiangxi. We are very proud to be the Support Hospital for National Regional Medical Center Construction and at the same time we are keenly aware of the weighty responsibility. We hope that both sides further develop clear and precise communication and coordination mechanisms, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and actively work together in project application. This will enable us to quickly progress to the development of most people's livelihoods using high-quality and high-standards, so as to jointly realize the implementation of the National Regional Medical Center project as soon as possible and as a result bringing benefit more cancer patients.

The both sides agreed to pool strengths to establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship, give full play to the advantages of TMUCIH in cancer prevention and treatment, scientific research, talent training and hospital management, to build “TMUCIH Jiangxi Hospital” into an advanced specialized cancer hospital and a first-class national regional medical center in China, so as to promote the improvement of cancer diagnosis and treatment in Jiangxi and improve the influence of the top level regional medical resources.
